Exam pattern & how mocks work

Built on the real exam.
Every mock has a purpose.

DCS Rank mirrors the official NEET and JEE Main patterns exactly — then turns every attempt into a sharper rank prediction and a clearer recovery plan. Here is precisely how it works.

Official pattern · 2027
NEET UG exam pattern
The NTA pattern for NEET 2027: 200 questions shown, 180 to be answered. Each subject has a compulsory Section A and an optional Section B where you choose which questions to attempt.

Section A + Section B: each subject shows 35 compulsory questions (Section A) plus 15 optional (Section B) where you attempt any 10 — Biology, being two subjects, doubles this. Total: 200 shown, 180 answered, 720 marks. Our Full Mocks replicate this exact structure so your score maps straight to a real rank.
Official pattern
JEE Main exam pattern
Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech). Each subject has compulsory MCQs plus numerical questions where you choose which to attempt.

Mock library
Six kinds of mock — each with a job
A full paper isn't the only way to improve. DCS Rank gives you the right format for the moment you're in — from a 30-minute warm-up to a full exam simulation.
🎯

Full Mock

NEET 200Q (180 ans) · JEE 75Q · 180 min

A complete exam simulation in the exact official format, including NEET's Section A/B optional questions. This is the only mock that feeds your AIR prediction.

📚

Subject Test

~45 questions

One subject at a time — Physics, Chemistry, Botany or Zoology — to build depth before you sit a full paper.

📖

Chapter / Topic Test

20–40 questions

Tight focus on a single chapter. Ideal right after you finish learning a topic, to lock it in.

🔁

Revision Test

~60 questions

Mixed questions across chapters you've already covered, timed to surface what's fading from memory.

🧬

Recovery Test

50–120 questions

Auto-built from your weak concepts. The system targets exactly where you've been losing marks.

Sprint

20–50 questions · short

A quick daily session to keep momentum and speed up without committing to three full hours.

Every mock follows the same +4 / −1 / 0 marking. Time scales to the number of questions, so a short Sprint isn't given a three-hour clock. Only Full Mocks count toward rank prediction — the rest build the skills that raise your full-mock score.
The loop
How a mock actually raises your rank
A score on its own doesn't move you up. What moves you up is what happens after the mock. Here's the cycle DCS Rank runs every time you submit.
1

Take & score

You attempt a mock in real exam conditions. We grade instantly with the official marking scheme and store every answer.

2

Detect weakness

The system finds the exact concepts and question types where you lost marks — not just "Physics is weak," but which idea inside it.

3

Recover

Targeted Recovery and Topic tests are queued automatically, so your next practice hits precisely those gaps while they're fresh.

4

Re-predict rank

Each new Full Mock updates your AIR trajectory and percentile, so you can see your rank moving — and exactly what's driving it.

Start with one full mock

See your real rank estimate, your weakest concepts, and your first recovery plan — all from a single exam-format paper.
