Misconceptions

The wrong rule you keep applying without noticing. Misconceptions catches the mistake behind your mistakes — “you consistently pick X when the answer is Y” — and shows the fix with a tiny worked example, so it stops happening.

What it is

Some wrong answers aren't careless — they're a wrong idea applied consistently. If you always reverse a sign, or confuse two similar concepts, you'll keep missing a whole family of questions. Misconceptions detects that repeated error and corrects the idea itself, not just the one question.

A reaction releases heat. The sign of ΔH is…
AΔH is positive (+)Your usual pick
BΔH is negative (−)Correct
Misconception caught
You pick “positive” for exothermic reactions. Heat released means ΔH is negative.
The system loses energy to the surroundings, so the change is below zero. Fix this one idea and a whole set of thermodynamics questions becomes easy marks.

How it works

1

Watch wrong answers

Every incorrect choice is recorded — which option you picked, not just that you missed.

2

Spot the repeat

When the same wrong idea shows up across questions, it stops being a fluke.

3

Name the rule

The exact wrong rule is stated — the belief that's quietly producing the errors.

4

Show the fix

A tiny worked example corrects the idea, then re-tests it later to confirm it stuck.

What you get

The mistake behind your mistakes, named in plain words
A tiny worked example that fixes the idea, not just the answer
A whole family of questions unlocked by one correction
A re-test later to confirm the misconception is really gone
